Massage therapy

Massage therapy involves the assessment and treatment of the body’s soft tissues. Used independently or with other medical, pharmaceutical or physical therapies, massage therapy can treat many different conditions, including soft tissue injuries and dysfunctions, chronic painful conditions, and several stressful illnesses. It can also restore or augment function, promote relaxation and reduce stress.

People of all ages from all walks of life, including infants, seniors, sports enthusiasts and office workers, can benefit from massage therapy’s healing touch.

Through the use of hydrotherapy, stretching and strengthening exercises, instruction in proper breathing, and assessment and correction of posture, massage therapy can help you reach your goals towards a healthy lifestyle.

Registered massage therapists (RMTs) are trained professionals who have studied anatomy, physiology, pathology, physical assessment and other subjects. Only those who meet the rigorous standards of provincial colleges of massage therapists may use the title “registered.”
